Being a truck owner-operator is no easy job. Besides having to find the freight. pick-up the freight, and deliver the freight, they also have to put up with traffic, rules and regulations, rude drivers, and a host of other issues. But the biggest ripoff an owner-operator experiences is the repair bill, especially when they break down far from home.
Ask any owner-operator, and you’ll hear horror stories of how they were charged thousands of dollars for repairs that shouldn’t cost a tenth of that. One driver had broken brake drum. In a normal repair shop, a broken drum will cost no more than $300 to replace. This driver ended up paying over $2000 for that job.
Another driver had a broken fan belt. Its a $150 job at the higher end repair shops, but this driver ended up paying $1300 to have his replaced. It seems like those mechanics are predators, prying on truckers on their worst time of need.
At Capital Diesel , we understand that repairs may be required at the worst possible time. We charge a fair price for road service calls, plus the cost of the parts.
